Hard work pays off! Twitter reacts to Sarfaraz Khan’s India call-up for England Tests

Image
The hard work finally paid off for the Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan as he earned a spot in the Indian Test side for the second Test match against England. Sarfaraz was named as the replacement for injured KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja along with Washington Sundar and Saurabh Kumar. Sarfaraz was part of the India A squad that was playing against the England Lions in a three-match unofficial Test series. There had been a lot of debate amongst the Indian cricket team fans regarding the inclusion of Sarfaraz Khan in the Indian cricket team. A group of fans has always been in support of Sarfaraz and always slammed the Indian selectors for not giving him a place in the Indian squad. There was a lot of havoc when Rajat Patidar was announced as the replacement of Virat Kohli for the first two Tests against England rather than Sarfaraz Khan. Sarfaraz Khan has been scoring a lot of runs in first-class cricket for the past few years. In his 44 games played in the first class, Sarfaraz Khan has ...

“Liability in Tests” – Twitter thrashes Shreyas Iyer as he bags yet another failure in Test cricket

Image
Fans on Twitter reacted after India batter Shreyas Iyer bagged a failure in the second innings of the ongoing first Test against England . The match between the teams is taking place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.   England are asserting their authority over the Indian team and are looking for favorites to win the game. After India lost Axar Patel after the tea, it was expected that Shreyas Iyer would take responsibility and bail the team out of trouble, especially with the kind of ability he possesses against spin.   However, that wasn’t the case as Shreyas Iyer bagged another failure and put his team under pressure. The batter started pretty well and gave a sense of confidence to the Indian fans. He defended the ball well but didn’t take the responsibility and batted for long.   Shreyas Iyer perished to Jack Leach in the 41st over. The spinner bowled a flighted delivery out off to which the batter tried to push. He opened the face of the bat...

“Generational fraud” – Twitter blasts Shubman Gill for getting dismissed for duck in 1st Test

Image
Shubman Gill, who recently won the Polly Umrigar Award at the BCCI Awards, has found his low as he got out on a duck against England in the fourth innings. India is chasing 231 runs in the fourth innings after England was bundled for 420 in the third innings, taking a lead of 230 runs against India in the first Test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium In Hyderabad. Shubman Gill delivered a flop show in Hyderabad in both innings as he got out on 23 in the first innings and a duck in the second innings. The 24-year-old batter has been struggling since the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 and his record in Test cricket has been shambolic, to say the least. Gill has played 21 Tests and has scored 1063 Tests at an average of 29.53 which includes four half-centuries and two centuries. England’s No.3 Ollie Pope, gave a chance to his side to initiate a fightback but India’s No.3 have disappointed with his performance in red-ball cricket. Gill has impressed in only one format with...

“No praise enough..”- Twitter reacts to Ollie Pope’s historic innings in Hyderabad Test

Image
Ollie Pope has played an exceptional knock in the first Test between India and England which is being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The 26-year-old batter smashed 196 and missed out on a well-deserved double hundred. The Three Lions were all-out for 420 leading by 230 runs and now India needs to chase 231 runs to win the Test match. Ollie Pope was out for just a run in the first innings as he was caught in slips off Ravindra Jadeja’s delivery. However, England’s vice-captain played some brilliant cricket in his second innings as he scored his fifth Test century and missed out on what could have been a great double hundred. He was involved in four 50+ partnerships in the innings and carried himself from no.3 to no.11 in the game. England has set the target of 231 runs which will be very difficult for India to chase in the fourth innings. Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets and Jasprit Bumrah took four three wickets in the innings and have b...
