Hard work pays off! Twitter reacts to Sarfaraz Khan’s India call-up for England Tests

The hard work finally paid off for the Mumbai batsman Sarfaraz Khan as he earned a spot in the Indian Test side for the second Test match against England. Sarfaraz was named as the replacement for injured KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja along with Washington Sundar and Saurabh Kumar. Sarfaraz was part of the India A squad that was playing against the England Lions in a three-match unofficial Test series.

There had been a lot of debate amongst the Indian cricket team fans regarding the inclusion of Sarfaraz Khan in the Indian cricket team. A group of fans has always been in support of Sarfaraz and always slammed the Indian selectors for not giving him a place in the Indian squad.

There was a lot of havoc when Rajat Patidar was announced as the replacement of Virat Kohli for the first two Tests against England rather than Sarfaraz Khan.

Sarfaraz Khan has been scoring a lot of runs in first-class cricket for the past few years. In his 44 games played in the first class, Sarfaraz Khan has amassed 3751 runs at an average of 68.20. He has smashed 13 hundreds and 11 half-centuries, with his greatest score to date being 301*.

Along with Sarfaraz, the India A team played the England Lions, and Sarfaraz showed some respectable form by scoring 55 runs in the second innings.

Sarfaraz Khan was also adjudged the Player of the Match in the second unofficial Test match against England Lions. Sarfaraz played an innings of 161 runs from 160 balls and smashed 18 fours and five sixes. He helped India A put up a total of 489 runs in the first innings and also won the match by an innings and 16 runs.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan also took an indirect dig at the Indian cricket team selectors by sharing the first-class numbers of Sarfaraz Khan.
