India National Cricket Team bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur was disappointed after getting out in the first ODI against West Indies and he was seen having an argument with the on-field umpires after his dismissal.

Shardul Thakur came to bat at No.6 for India in the first ODI at the Kensington Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He faced just 4 deliveries at the crease before getting dismissed by leg-spinner Yannic Cariah for 1.

On the second ball of the 18th over, Cariah bowled a length ball outside off-stump and Shardul dabbed it straight to Alick Athanaze at second slip and he grabbed a stunning catch.

After getting out, Shardul Thakur instantly went toward the umpires and expressed his disappointment over his dismissal. He was seen pointing to the sightscreen apparently signaling that he wasn’t ready to play due to some disturbance. However, umpires Nigel Duguid and Michael Gough forced him to leave the field.

Meanwhile, India National Cricket Team won the match by 5 wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Earlier, India won the toss and they opted to bowl first. The bowlers did an exceptional job in the match and bundled out the West Indies for 114. Indian pacers – Hardik Pandya, Mukesh Kumar, and Shardul Thakur – started off the damage by dismissing the top order. While the rest of the job was done by the spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav.

Chasing a small total, India made significant changes to their batting unit with Rohit Sharma giving his opening spot to Ishan Kishan. Also, Virat Kohli gave his No.3 spot to Suryakumar Yadav, who failed to play a big knock. Although Rohit was forced to come out to bat as India lost 5 wickets, Kohli didn’t have to bat in the match.
