The Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai hosted the 14th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) between the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) and Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Monday, April 1. Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the toss and as expected elected to bowl first in the match. They made one notable change to their bowling unit as Sandeep Sharma, who was unfit, made the way for Nandre Burger in the playing XI. The decision to have a go with the ball turned out to be excellent for the visiting team as the star left-arm pacer Trent Boult made the Mumbai batters dance to his tunes. Trent Boult dismissed Rohit Sharma and Naman Dhir for golden ducks on the 5th and 6th ball of the first over of the innings. MI were forced to bring in Dewald Brevis ahead of the second over as an impact player. Nandre Burger came to bowl the second over and he bowled some brilliant lines and lengths but wasn’t able to pick any wickets. Then, Trent Boult came again and dismissed Brevis ...

All eyes were on Rohit Sharma as Mumbai Indians locked horns against Rajasthan Royals on Monday (April 1) in their first home game of the ongoing IPL 2024. The right-handed batsman was playing an IPL game at the Wankhede Stadium as a non-captain for the first time in over a decade. Rohit Sharma led MI from 2013 to 2023 before being sacked and replaced by allrounder Hardik Pandya. Unsurprisingly, expectations were sky high from the former MI captain. However, the India skipper failed to live up to the expectations and was out for a golden duck. Up against his former IPL teammate Trent Boult, Rohit Sharma once again showed that he struggles against left-arm pacers. On the fifth ball of the over, Boult bowled an angled delivery that was going away and Rohit Sharma poked at it and ended up edging the ball behind the stumps where Sanju Samson took a fine catch. With Rohit Sharma falling for a duck, few fans were quick to have some fun at his expense. Here are some of the reactions to...
